Vršič, Kranjska Gora, 27. 7. 2014 | press release

As part of the commemorations to mark the 100th anniversary of World War I, the President of the Republic of Slovenia Borut Pahor attended the memorial service at the Russian Chapel under the Vršič mountain pass. The service was attended by many distinguished guests from Slovenia and Russia who each year at the end of July remember the hundreds of dead Russian soldiers, prisoners during World War I, killed by an avalanche when constructing the road over the pass in 1916.
