Serbian president Vučić arrives for a working meeting at the invitation of Slovenian president Pahor

Serbian president Aleksandar Vučić arrived for a working meeting in Slovenia at the invitation of his Slovenian counterpart Borut Pahor. The two men attended a working dinner to discuss current issues in the region and the rest of Europe.

They issued a press statement before the dinner in which

Mr Pahor gave assurances that Slovenia would remain a committed supporter of the enlargement of the EU to the Western Balkans, particularly during this period of geopolitical uncertainty, as this could only contribute to peace and security. He stressed that the region’s leaders had to ensure, in the name of peace and stability, that their actions and statements did not inflame the situation. Mr Pahor remains convinced that there is enough common ground between all parties in the region.

President Vučić today thanked Slovenia for its persistent support for Serbia’s efforts to join the EU, and restated his commitment to a European path for the whole of the Western Balkans.
