President Pahor stressed the importance of implementing the arrangements made to date and finding a comprehensive solution. In his view, the current deadlock does not benefit anyone. He emphasised the role of dialogue, which is not easy, as it aims to resolve very complex issues. President Pahor expressed his certainty that progress can be made if there is political will on both ends.

After their talk, Presidents Pahor and Osmani-Sadriu planted a tree outside the Presidential Palace as a symbolic reaffirmation of friendship between the two countries.

President Pahor later met with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti. The two statesmen talked about the situation in the region and the current state of talks between Belgrade and Pristina. President Pahor repeated that permanent stabilisation, development and progress and the inclusion of Kosovo and other Western Balkan partners in Euro-Atlantic integration remain in Slovenia’s strategic interest.

In the afternoon, President Pahor will pay a visit to the members of the 44th Slovenian KFOR contingent and meet with the command staff responsible for the operation in Kosovo. The Slovenian President will learn about the situation in the area of operations where the Slovenian Contingent is based. He will also meet with senior military representatives from the KFOR command structure, including the Commanders of KFOR and Regional Command-West, to discuss the overall current situation in Kosovo, the activities and state of the operation and the participation of the Slovenian contingent in the future.
