President Pahor visits contingent of the Slovenian Armed Forces at Camp Butmir in Sarajevo

President of the Republic of Slovenia and Commander-in-Chief of Defence Forces Borut Pahor visited the members of the Slovenian Armed Forces taking part in EUFOR Operation Althea at Camp Butmir in Sarajevo. He was accompanied by Minister of Defence of the Republic of Slovenia Matej Tonin.

After taking the salute from the EUFOR Honour Guard, President Pahor had separate meetings with Major General Alexander Platzer, Commander of EUFOR Operation Althea, and Brigadier General Eric Folkestad, Commander of the NATO Headquarters in Sarajevo. During the meetings, President Pahor highlighted that Slovenia supports all activities aimed at strengthening the defence and security sector of Bosnia and Herzegovina that contribute to ensuring peace, security and stability in the region.

President Pahor then visited the nine-member contingent of the Slovenian Armed Forces. He was received by Lieutenant Colonel Darko Peče, the contingent commander, who informed him on the mission’s tasks.
